iO3, the leader in maritime digitalisation and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider for the maritime industry, has today announced a collaboration with Pacific International Lines (PIL) that will see iO3 deploy its JARVISS solution, V.Sight, on PIL vessels. V.Sight, which is a video analytics and surveillance solution designed to detect intrusions and mishaps in inaccessible areas of ships, will aid PIL to remotely monitor sensitive areas, thereby increasing operational efficiency.
After successful trials on 2 vessels from May to August of 2022, PIL signed with iO3 to deploy the V.Sight solution on 60 vessels. iO3 designed and built the shipboard infrastructure for PIL, which serves as a foundation for the service to function efficiently. The data acceleration technology embedded in JARVISS resulted in reduced latency in the satellite communications link, which enabled the smooth transmission of high-quality video imageries to shore.
Roll out of the V.Sight solution to the identified vessels in PIL’s fleet commenced in October 2022 and will be completed by June 2023.
Goh Chung Hun, Head, Fleet Division, PIL, stated, “At PIL, our main digitalisation objectives are safety, security, efficiency and improved welfare for our crew. The improved ship to shore connectivity we have gained through iO3’s solutions, will help us accomplish all these objectives, and more. The two key aspects that stood out for us were the data accelerator technology through JARVISS and the iO3 team’s expertise when it came to knowledge of shipboard infrastructure. Additionally, the proactive support and great customer service we experienced during the trials gave us the confidence to expand the collaboration. We are excited to expedite our digitalisation journey, with iO3 as our partner.”
Joanna Soh, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, iO3, stated “Winning the trust of a renowned shipping company such as PIL and partnering with them to achieve their digitalisation goals is a wonderful endorsement of iO3’s capabilities. It also speaks to the direction the maritime industry is headed in and how digitalisation is becoming an important priority. We are truly delighted to be PIL’s partner. iO3 remains committed to accelerating maritime digitalisation through our JARVISS suite of solutions and pride ourselves with being the frontrunners in the space.”
“Working with the team at PIL was an absolute pleasure! Their visionary approach and passion for excellence in all they do is admirable.” Soh added.
In 2022, the JARVISS platform has had many important additions to its suite of solutions such as weather intelligence and carbon intensity indicators. iO3’s engineering teams have expanded to support multiple deployments and they have been steadily improving their software capabilities, making them more robust. Other offerings under the JARVISS suite of solutions include, V.IoT – Aggregated shipboard data to improve vessel operations and efficiencies, V.Sion – AR (Augmented Reality) smart glasses offering remote video conferencing, V.Weather – An optimized vessel weather routing solution with carbon emission information, and upcoming, V.Med – A telemedicine solution for tracking and monitoring health metrics of crew members.
